17th Japanese Medaka and Zebrafish Meeting

The Japanese Medaka and Zebrafish Meeting is the annual meeting for people who are interested in basic and applied science in medaka, zebrafish and all the other aquatic animals. In 2011, the 17th JMZM takes place in Mishima City, Shizuoka, Japan. The meeting will be held in English for the first time. The organizers welcome all the participants from around the world who wish to share this opportunity by exchanging research results, experiences and ideas with a splendid view of Mt Fuji.

Accommodation

●Toray Human Resources Development Center

   Check out on 9th September 2011

Sixty rooms in Toray Human Resources Development Center (single room with the bathroom en suite, ¥6,825, break fast is not included in this fee) are available. You can apply for this room on the registration form. You can have a breakfast at ¥630 if you select on the registration form. Due to the limited number, these rooms will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Travel support

Students and participants from abroad who will make a presentation (oral or poster) in the meeting can apply the travel support. Awardees will be selected by the meeting organizers. Applicants from Tohoku area, who are suffering from the recent Tohoku Region Pacific Coast Earthquake, will have a priority. The extent of support will be determined depending on the number of applicants.

Lunch

The lunch will be provided on the second day (9th Fri) because there are few restaurants around the meeting site. Please indicate upon registration if you wish to have the lunch. The lunch costs ¥945.

National Institute of Genetics Tour(15:00〜16:30)

After the meeting, we will have a brief tour in National Institute of Genetics (Kawakami lab, Sakai lab and Hirata lab). Please indicate upon registration if you wish to join.

Registration and abstract submission

For a participant who wishes to present her/his work, fill in both the registration form and the abstract submission form and send them to the17th JMZM office.
For a participant who does not present her/his work, fill the registration form only and send it to the17th JMZM office.
The form(s) should be sent to the 17th JMZM office (fish17@lab.nig.ac.jp) as an attached file(s).
The file name of the form should contain your name.
